Unlike ionizing radiation, RF radiation isn't believed to cause cancer. However, some studies have shown increased tumor rates in laboratory animal models exposed to RF radiation.

There are a variety of federal agencies responsible for regulating and monitoring the effects on the body of RF radiation on human bodies. This includes those of the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. They monitor RF exposure to ensure that it is safe for workers. They also advise employees to limit their exposure if they are working in environments with high-frequency RF.
